HOW TO MAKE THIS MOTHERS DAY CHARCUTERIE BOARD

A charcuterie board is probably one of the easiest recipes you can make. It’s all about arrangement and not so much cooking and baking.

    1. First place your letters on the counter in order.
    2. Fill your first M with a selection of sweet items. Arrange them with different sizes, shapes and colors.
    3. Next, fill your O with the savory items and a salami rose.
    4. To make a salami rose, add slices of salami to the rim of a shot glass or wine glass, work around the edge of the glass in a circle overlapping the slices of salami. Repeat with layers of salami and eventually a rose shape will be formed. Pro Tip: You will be able to see the shape of the rose you’re creating by looking through the glass. You can add more or less salami depending on how big you want the rose to be. Watch the recipe video for a visual.
    5. Fill the next M with more sweet items.

    TIPS

    • Use different sizes and shapes. For a beautiful charcuterie display we recommend you look for items that are a different size, color and shape. This will make the charcuterie visually interesting.
    • Find the “board” at the craft store. You should be able to find cardboard or wooden letters in your nearest craft store. The letters we used were 22cm tall.
    • Separate sweet and savory. We recommend keeping the meats separate from the sweet items. If you don’t, their flavors may blend, making it unappetizing.

    STORAGE TIPS

    • Store each ingredient separately.
    • Place your ingredients in airtight containers.
    • Put refrigerated items in the refrigerator.
    • Store cookies and crackers on the counter or in a ziploc bag.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where can I find 3-dimensional letters?

You can find box letters or paper mache letterboxes at your local craft store such as Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Additionally, you can plan ahead and have them shipped to you from Amazon.

How early can I prepare my Mother’s Day Charcuterie Board?

Since you are filling a cardboard box or wooden box with food items, I would not fill them until just before you plan to serve it. You can prepare by slicing any cheese or meats and placing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

What else goes with a Mom charcuterie board?

You can pair this mom charcuterie board with anything you like. Make mom a whole dinner and use this board as an appetizer. If you want it to be a more filling meal, but don’t want to do a lot of cooking, Avocado Turkey Sliders would be a great finger food to add. Or, make mom feel extra special with a Mimosa table.
