Get your friends together this summer for a delicious, messy crawfish party! Everything you need to know to throw the best party of the year!
I have always wanted to throw a Summer Crawfish Party, and yet every summer passes without one. This summer, I said no more. This was going to be the year that we get our hands dirty and full our stomachs with delicious crustaceans.
Now I know that a typical crawfish party tends to be on the casual side, however I knew full well when I tasked my Mom with setting up for the party, it would be anything but. She has quite the knack for making things, even as simple as a backyard BBQ glamours. We went with a nautical theme and it was absolutely gorgeous!
What I loved most about this party was that mostly everything was prepped in advance and cooked while the guests were there. This made for easy entertaining, and a chance to listen to music and talk to guests without being stuck behind a stove.
When meal planning for an event, I always try and pick wines that will pair well with the meal. Since crawfish (or crayfish) is a seafood, I wanted a crisp white wine. Because we were serving more than just the crawfish, I needed something that would pair well with everything. Notable Wines Chardonnay was the perfect match! With two varieties, one from California and one from Australia, Noteable hit all of the flavors notes we were looking for and paired with everything that we were serving.
Unlike other varieties, Noteable wines showcases its taste prominently on the front label, making it very easy to know if it will pair well with the meal or not.
For the appetizers we went with Notable California. With its oaky and buttery flavor notes, it paired perfectly with the prosciutto wrapped cantaloupe and the baked mussels. For dinner, we went with Notable Australia. The fruity crisp notes paired beautifully with the crawfish, sides, and other dishes.
All in all it was a wonderful party complete with good food, delicious wine, and of course wonderful company! Are you throwing a summer party this year?

What a beautiful tablescape, perfect for the occasion! I haven't been to a crawfish boil but we love seafood boils where I live. Wish we were able to get fresh crawfish regularly in addition to other seafood. I bet it pairs so well with the wine!

All I'd need to add is a Corona. Being from Houston, TX and visiting NOLA all the time, we had crawfish boils all the time. This post brings back some great memories!

I'm from Australia and I have never tried crawfish but I think I really need to get around to it next time I visit the states!
