These Brown Sugar Walnut Shortbread Bars have a buttery shortbread crust followed with a brown sugar walnut topping. They are the perfect decadent treat!

INGREDIENTS

SHORTBREAD BASE – All-purpose flour – Powdered sugar – Teaspoon salt – Cold unsalted butter WALNUT TOPPING – Dark or ligt brown sugar – Egg – Vanilla extract – All-purpose flour – Baking soda – Salt – Walnuts- roughly chopped

In a bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, and salt; whisk to combine. Mix in cold butter using a pastry cutter or 2 knives. Press into pan.

Whisk brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt and mix until smooth. Stir in chopped walnuts.

Pour filling over crust.
