This Maple Syrup Layer Cake is a perfect cake for any time you're in the mood for something maple-flavored. It is soft and moist with a hint of maple flavor in every bite.
Preheat the oven to 350°. Line the bottoms of 3-9” cake pans with parchment paper and lightly spray with baking spray; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda; set aside. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment combine butter, brown sugar, sugar and shortening.
Stop the mixer and scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Add in maple syrup, buttermilk and vanilla and mix to combine.
Evenly distribute the batter in between the 3 prepared cake pans.
