Ingredients
Crust
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter cold and cut into cubes
Filling
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • 2 cups pecans coarsely chopped
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9x9 inch square baking pan with foil and lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium sized bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut cold butter into the flour mixture with a pastry cutter until mixture is crumbly.
  4. Press crust mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Bake until edges are golden colored, about 15-17 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and set aside to cool slightly while making the filling.
  7. In a large bowl, mix eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
  8. Add chocolate chips and pecans; spread over crust.
  9. Cover lightly with foil.
  10. Bake for 30 minutes, then carefully remove foil.
  11. Bake for an additional 30 minutes or until filling has set.
  12. Place pan on a wire rack to cool. Cool completely before cutting into 9-12 squares.
