This recipe consists of fresh blueberries combined with apples and topped with a buttery crumble. A super easy and quick dessert recipe for your air fryer.
Note 1: You can also use frozen blueberries. You will need to bake this at a lower temperature - 320°F - and add 5 minutes of time
Note 2: This fits perfectly with greek yogurt, ice cream or vanilla sauce.
Variations, how to switch it up-
During autumn/winter time you might want to try adding a bit of cinnamon instead of lemon zest.
Add some chopped pecans, walnuts or almonds for a nice crunch.
Serve this crumble with greek yogurt and some honey.
Can I make this ahead?
Crumble tastes best slightly warm or at room temperature, but you can keep any leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Please cover thoroughly. You can reheat the crumble in your microwave or put it in the airfryer if you want the topping to get crunchy again.
Can I freeze this?
This can be frozen either baked or unbaked. You might want to freeze the baked version in single servings so that you may take out only what you need.
Allow it to thaw at room temperature before eating, or reheat in your airfryer to re-create the crispy top.
You may freeze this unbaked as well. The crumble topping and filling can be frozen whole or separately.
Can I make more to feed a crowd?
Totally! Just double or triple the ingredients and cook in batches or use a bigger pan and bake the crumble in the oven. Bake it at 360°F for around 30 minutes or until crumbles are golden brown.
